Here are two maps of my hometown in Mumbai, India. One is a map view and other is a satellite view. Enjoy the pictures. Click on the pictures to see the enlarged view.

It was an year ago and i used to check google maps for the detailed street level maps of USA. I used to wonder when that day will dawn for Mumbai, India and used to forget about it coz i thought who will want to map India with it’s messed up city design but alas!!! it’s not a dream to see Mumbai entirely mapped as now i can see Goregaon and the underlined streets so clearly and i remember everything. It’s so good to see my home in map, the swimming pool, my sports club, Inorbit Mall, Sunder Nagar and my school and not to forget my means of transportation, the local trains which i adore the most. Thanks Google for this, your mind runs faster than the world has ever thought and with your innovative creations leave me spellbound. Good going. Also, Happy Holidays to all and hope you had a wonderful christmas and Happy New year to all in advance. Stay Happy.
Paras Mamania
It was 4:30pm on 22nd Dec’ 05 at SFO airport when my flight from Singapore landed. It was a notification to the States that Paras has arrived. I had finally reached my destination. I was all excited and seeing from the flight window, i saw darkness and i was wondering how come at 4:30 in the evening, does it get dark? But, This is America, winter days are till 4:30pm and summer days are till 8:30 in the evening.
Whoa!!!! Time flies by so fast and today it is 22nd Dec’ 06. I am sitting in my house typing this post letting you know about the eventful year that just went by for me. From studies to traveling places around the USA, i have had my share of struggle and fun this last one year.
1. I successfully completed one year of my Masters studies.
2. I have got a job for myself starting January 07.
3. I have made new friends for life - naming them wont be doing justice to all of them but some of my very close friends here at USC: Yash Veera, Chirag Doctor, Nikhil Parekh, Parag Shah, Shreya Shah, Deepak Singh, Mahesh Bhat, Arjit Bhandari, Ameet Shah, Sushaant Mujoo, Priyanka Walwaikar and not to forget my very own Surti Bhai bandhu - Bhargav Bhalani and yeah some firangi friends too at my work place: Ayberk Ozturk(Turkey), Abraham Romo(American), Diego Prats(Mexico). Cheers to my awesome friends and the wonderful time i have had spending with you guys.
4. I traveled a lot of places around the USA: Starting from East coast (Boston, New York, New Jersey); Midwest (Chicago, Owensboro, Nashville), Mountain(Grand Canyons) and finally in the West Coast (San Fransisco, Yosemite, Las Vegas). Yet to travel a lot of places. Life is too short yaar to see all the beautiful places in this world.
5. My great grandmother expired on my birthday after living a long and worthy life of around 90+ years. I still miss her and her teachings and stories will be etched in my memories for ever.
I miss Mumbai, I miss India, i miss the roadside bhelpuri, paanipuri, Shivsagar and Sudama ni pav bhaji,. Here’s hoping that i visit my hometown soon and catch up with you my friends and family.
Till then Adios and Happy Holidays!!!!
Life is a journey,
not a destination..
Accompanied with a fear of rejection,
Filled with moments of isolation!!
Life is a race,
But is won by those
who r slow
yet maintain a consistent pace.
In life, some moments just leave you spellbound,
Some moments make you touch the ground..
Some put you in deep thought,
some just pass by in a spur of a minute-
Making you wonder are you lost..
Life is a game,
played with its own set of rules,
You cherish the moments of victory..
You learn from the moments when you lose..
Life is an endless road,
If trotted with care,
It will treat you with love,
Nurture you and be fair..
Life is a mystery,
Watch it simply unfold..
Don’t spoil the fun by predicting the future
You never know what’ in store for you..
Maybe silver or gold..
Moments of sweet memories,
Moments of shared laughter and cry,
Make you thank the Almighty God for this life,
And wish that you never ever die!!
An awesome poem.. makes so much sense right… All of us have a wonderful life in store for us but it is just the absence of not living that wonderful life at this very moment. What will it take for us to live that life? This is just one of my random life musings. Share your thoughts and comments and i thank Yashshri for sharing this poem.Â
Whoa!!!! What a semester has it been. Three courses with crazy assignments, project and exams…. Finally, It’s all done. I am glad the semester is over. Both my roommates have gone back home and i am here trying to figure out what to do for Winter Break. Have couple of projects in mind on which i am planning to work on and also learn Flash!!! Life is getting a lot animated and thought that it will be handy to have knowledge of this flashy tool… Couple of things to do before i start work. Do some grocery shopping, Get an haircut and clean my house. All three things require urgent attention and immediate action.
lolz. neways, Thanks for visiting and reading this post. Stay tuned for more articles and updates about me and my life. Till then, Adios.
Rajvi……. Happy Birthday…. You are special to me and here’s wishing a wonderful day to you from your chachu in Los Angeles, CA. May you grow to be beautiful and smart.
Love,
Paras.
I know it’s been a week since i posted last and it feels like so long, Ohhh.. I have missed you.. It feels nice to be back blogging. I had two presentations and one final exam and it was one hectic week, i tell ya… I am glad it’s over. Now only one final exam remains on 12th Dec and Yay!!! Fall semester is approaching it’s end. I recently read on www.kutchvalley.com about sending pictures to India which was a service offered by www.picsquare.com. It seemed a nice service and i immediately uploaded 24 pics on their server which they will download and print in their Bangalore office and courier them to my home in Mumbai, IN and guess all this for just 90c. Isn’t it a mind boggling deal? It is and the print quality is amazing. It’s possibly the best way to surprise your family or friends in India. Thanks to Prashant for sharing this link. It’s also getting chilly in the nights here but days are still the very best
Have a great weekend.
