I want all of you to know about the ongoing rivalry between two world famous schools USC & UCLA.
USC’s mascot is the Trojan and UCLA’s mascot is the Bruin… I will tell you one side of the story
Many students in USC wear t-shirts and sweatshirts writing funny comments and one liners about our neighbor school UCLA.
“FUCLA”
“Don’t Bruin your life”
We also have a finger fountain in USC which points in the direction of UCLA. USC does all damn things possible to make sure that “UCLA sucks at everything”… That’s one group on Facebook which i saw couple of days back…
BTW… USC definitely is better in football against it’s counterpart UCLA and also gets excellent placements for CS students and pulls awesome professors to teach at USC>>
Fight On!!!
Yesterday was Samvatsari Divas and it is the day of universal forgiveness. We forgive people against whom we have grudges and we ask for forgiveness for any wrong we have done to anybody knowingly or unknowingly.
Here’s one Stotra in Ardhamagdhi (language used in early years) and it’s english translation for all of you to understand.
Khamemi savve jiva - We forgive all the living beings,
Savve jiva khamantu mein - We seek pardon from all the living beings,
Mitti mein savva bhuvesu - We are friendly towards all the living beings,
Veram majjham na kenvi - And we seek enemity with none.
“Micchami Dukkadam” - We ask for forgiveness from all.
Many Many Happy Returns of the day to you Dear Paras!!!!
Baar Baar Dil Yeh Gaaye,
Baar Baar Din Yeh Aaye,
Tum Jeo Hazaro Saal,
Saal ke din ho Pachas Hazar.

Hello to my dear readers.. I know.. it’ been a while since i updated my blog.. The initial hysteria and excitement is all gone.. I have kinda settled down and back to life in my new motherland i call “Los Angeles”.. Classes began today… I didn’t like it at all today.. The class was a bore. I slept for half an hour while the professor was blah’ing his knowledge on us. I have continued my same ol’ job from Spring sem but looking for a new job starting this sem. I applied to 9 new job openings today online. Rest of the day was going through my course syllabus for all three courses and to say did some cleaning of my house. Looks neat and smells good
… btw… Today our Paryushan (Jain festival celebrated for 8 days) began today. This is the first time i am celebrating it outside of India. Back in India, i used to go everyday to the temple and do some dharam dhyan but here kuch nahi hota… Temple is an hour away and i am planning to go only on the last day of our Paryushan called “Samvatsari Divas”. To tell you some flashback memories, I spent a good month and half with my parents in different parts of US. Got to see a lot of places and took some excellent pics which i will hopefully upload soon on my photo gallery. Hope all of you have been good and had a nice summer.
Lets welcome the Fall with this poem that i read somewhere.
“Gazing at the tree, Standing tall, The bright red leaves that come in the fall,
The bird that waits for the wind to stall,
The thick sap about to fall,
The crispy golden leaves surrounding it all,
A cool breeze sending a call,
Are all showing images of the Fall.”
